Even "old" they look good. The CNW Dash9 & AC4400 paint scheme has got to be one of the most attractive schemes I've ever seen on a GE.
The highlight of the day.This train actually arrived in McAlester an hour early. Clouds moved in right after it left town.
"Thank you" to the crew for departing town nice & slow. The sun was out for just the right moment.
"Look Ma' ... no patch!"
UP 1982 & UP 1988 stop for fuel. We chased that train for 90 miles of overcast skies, then at Ray yard we finally saw some "rays".
It is said that in the "olden days", Jesse James and his gang rolled a boulder on the tracks and robbed a train near this location.
