The WS3 is doubling against the SU99 train. The crew is on board SU99's road power, a pair of SD60 locomotives.
The WS3 is assembling the afternoon SU99 freight behind a trio of SD60 locomotives.
WS3 is moving the evening SU99 road power to the west end of the MC Yard. Tonight's power features two-thirds of the NYSW SD60 roster, with four of the big units for the heavy westbound.
Second generation diesels survive on the NYS&W. WS3 crew has a pair of tunnel motors and a flare, circa 1960s/1970s for power.
With the track all the way to Butler the SU100 doesn't wait to get rolling and is seen here heading into the sunset kicking up dust right before it makes the turn to get back onto the original NYS... (more)

After making quick work of the grade west of Butler the WS3 with a pure consist of ex NJT Comet I's heads westbound torwards Sparta Junction.
