With just a haze at the chimney, 'Black 5' No.45231 sweeps round the curve from Leeds towards Church Fenton Station with the 'Scarborough Spa Express'. This series of summer excursions, with a variety of motive power, were highly successful and well patronised. Sadly, 45231 was to come to grief with a cylinder blow-out (also at Church Fenton) on the return leg.
