Only a couple of signals on the old C&O received the "W" aspect. The absolute signal pictured here, is located in Pence Springs, and is displaying an "Approach to Weigh" to the next Eastbound. The train will cross the weigh-in-motion scales at Riffe between 6 and 10 miles per hour before resuming track speed. A 2 second exposure @ f5.6, ISO 400, with a full powered hand held blast from a Canon EX 580 II flash.
A continuously growing album of photos that IMHO reveal the awesome and seldom-seen beauty of the railroad world from the dimming of day to dawn's early light! From dusk to dawn, trains roll on! (I'm still finding gems of sunset-to-sunrise surprises!)
