According to the best of information available at the time of posting: This is the NS&T track profile looking north at the diamond with the GTW. In the NS&T TT this was MP 14, approximately 4 mi. from the south terminal at Port Colborne (MP 18), on the Welland Sub. The NS&T called it "Dainsville"; in the GTW Timetable it was Merritton Jct. You see it from the inside of car #130, along with a RR employee stepping into the shanty, perhaps to call the dispatcher about getting OK to cross. Wabash had trackage rights on the GTW (NS inherited them) and a Wabash Red Ball freight (with a F7 leading) is unseen out of view at the right, cooling it's heels at the tri-headed semaphore absolutes. These wires came down in 1960, passenger service had ended the year prior. In 1973, the Welland Canal bypass and Townline Tunnel forever altered the traditional rail network on the Niagara peninsula, including this portion of the (now) CN you see here. Corrections/additional information always welcomed.
