Remarks & Notes
Ball signal. As of 2012 the famous ball signal was still in place at Whitefield, NH, though the tracks have not seen any trains in many years. The tracks going left to right was Boston & Maine's Berlin branch, the tracks leading into the distance was Maine Central's Mountain Sub which led to St. Johnsbury, VT. For more photos of the diamond as well as other New England photos from the same trip, click here.
