On April 25th, 2014 the crew of Norfolk Southern's T51 made its last run on the N&W's famed "Peavine." Orders were to pick up all equipment, railcars, and a switcher in Winchester, Ohio. In this photo, T51 enters the small town of Sardinia, Ohio. This particular location was the site of a head on collision that occurred between two N&W coal trains early Easter Sunday 1958. The crashed claimed the lives of two railroaders, destroyed two new EMD GP-9's and sparked a long standing mystery about what truly happened that fateful morning.
