Now this is a compromise joint! Having to connect vastly different sized rails on this seldom used NS house track greatly illustrates how valuable compromise joints are and what they are meant to do. This connection is between a 132 lb. rail on the left to a 90 lb. rail on the right at a grade crossing in Opelika.
