Remarks & Notes |
IF I had to find one word to describe the New Hope and Ivyland in the 1980's, it would be "ostentatious". The tourist passenger train rests overnight at New Hope with an anything-but-subtle lineup. Leading the charge is a VO-660 that has had its Warner Sand & Gravel lettering covered, and has had a bright red frame stripe added. Presumably, the gaudily-lettered tender coupled to the Baldwin is there to give the extremely uninformed the impression that this is a steam locomotive. Bright reddish-orange coaches complete this antithesis of a classic passenger train.
