Marooned On the Waterfront in Eureka California - SP 2872 and four other former Southern Pacific GP-9's sit rotting away in the salt air of the North Coast burb of Eureka. Once known for lumber, fishing and paper pulp, Eureka is now a "Mecca" for marijuana production and consumption in Northern California. Suffice it to say, until pot becomes popular enough to be shipped by "reefer" the railroad infrastructure in town will remain a mere shell of it's former glory.
