| As a friend and I crossed over the Mexicali Yard on Federal Highway 5, we saw the Ferromex Morning Local pulling south. We were not absolutely certain if he was pulling for clearance or leaving, so we quickly stopped at Calz Castellon to determine what he was doing. The EMDs throttled up at they cleared the yard and let go of some EMD smoke with a Diablo scheme GP35 rebuilt into a GP38M-2 leading and a Coca scheme SD40-2 trailing (and making most of the smoke). Railfanning in Mexicali reminds me a lot of railfanning in my home of Los Angeles with similar ROW maintenance. |
