SNIM's central workshop in Nouadhibou for the maintenance, overhaul and repair of locomotives and freight and passenger cars. On the more than 700-kilometre route through the Mauritanian desert, it is mainly the wheels of the vehicles that are severely affected by the fine sand and often have to be turned or replaced. In front of the workshop is SD70ACS CC # 124 built in 2012. Special features include a pulse filtration system, movable sand plows, EM2000 control system and FIRE display system. The six locomotives of this type, CC # 122 to # 127, were built by Progress Rail in Muncie, IN, in 2012. See also https://www.railpictures.net/photo/413791/
