Remarks & Notes
Back in 1978 Morrison-Knudsen rebuilt four GE U25B's with Sulzer prime movers. They gave it a nice flashy daylight type paint scheme never to be repeated. The horsepower was uprated to 2800 and they were more reliable than the U25B. Somehow this project was not repeated. They seemed to be kept together as a consist on trains. MK was competing against GE and EMD for locomotive orders and SP decided to order EMD SD40T-2's, GP40-2's and B30-7's from GE.
