Gotthard north ramp near Wassen. The "Traverso" train RABe 526 # 106/206 of the Südostbahn (SOB), en route as IR 2324 TRENO GOTTARDO of the line IR26 from Locarno over the Gotthard mountain line to Lucerne-Basel, crosses the lower Wattinger bridge over the Reuss river and passes the keeper's house 23cs (today privately owned) through the so-called Wattinger curve towards Gurtnellen. Above the guard house, the station building of Wassen can be seen, on the middle level of the loops of Wassen, where the train passed just over a minute ago. Further to the right, one sees the prominent Mittlere Meienreussbrücke and the houses of Wassen with the famous church. The top level of the line development can't really be seen, but the hilltop known to photographers as Feldherrenhügel is there at the track, just above the large radio mast at Wassen station.
